Quintessential Kansas City BBQ. Had smoked turkey, brisket, ribs, and wings all of which were top shelf. Even came in wearing the opposing team gear on game day and we were still treated as part of the family. Everything said about Mrs. Georgia is true. Will definitely be back to this place when in town.

If you like a BBQ joint, this place is for you. Perfect location for a pre game meal for either the Royals or Chiefs. BEST baked beans in the city! Hands down! The brisket was tender and tasty, as was the pulled pork. The greens were PERFECT!. The owners are pleasant and welcoming, the place has a down home feel. I highly recommend Back Porch!

Fabulous family friendly restaurant. Have come here on multiple occasion and have enjoyed some of the best meals EVER!! Really I love how the food is made to order the service is superior and the ambience of the restaurant is very tranquil. If you go you just try the lemonade or tea it's to die for!! But honestly you can't go wrong on the menu even if you are indecisive just close your eyes point and whatever your finger lands on you will NOT regret your choice. I will certainly become a regular at this place. Also they have a pool table and a contemporary juke box. I love to bring my friends and family down to play pool listen to music and eat.

Genuinely impressed by my first visit. One of the nicest owners I've met, and quite likely the most delicious brisket sandwich I have ever had. This place is not about pretense or packaging. It's about great food. And they really, really know what they are doing. Had the brisket sandwich, beans, and one rib bone. The sauce was good, the meat was exceptionally tender, and the beans were some of the best I've had in town. My friend got a sausage sandwich and loved it. Very much looking forward to coming back and bringing friends. Back Porch Barbecue is well worth a visit. Give them a look!

I was so pleasantly suprised by Back Porch BBQ and I will be back again and again!!!! The building used to be a biker bar, and as I'm not a biker I never frequented the establishment although I live within walking distance. Flash foward to spring 2015, I'm out of town several months for work, and my husband tells me that it is now a BBQ joint... Cool, whatever, I don't eat red meat or chicken, so as a general rule of thumb I'm not really into BBQ unless sweetpotato fries or fried pickles are involved right? WRONG!!! This place blew me away! It's so unassuming from the outside, but inside is clean, tidy and welcoming. Georgia and Tim are the owners and they are just so friendly and kind! And the food.... WONDERFUL! Most "soul food" in KC is just greasy and over fried. This was amazing, flavorful, made with love, and even the hot sauce was the good Louisiana variety and the tartar sauce with my catfish was made from scratch! I'm in love! Georgia brought us samples of sides to try while we waited, and the potato salad was crazy good, I just can't even do it propet justice, it was delicious though! My husband had had the pulled pork several times and tried the brisket tonight and he loves them both. My Dad had the sausage and onion ring combo and licked his plate clean. My catfish and greens were to die for! Normally catfish is too greasy for my liking, but this was just right!!!! I wish we had room for dessert, but it was a good thing we didn't order any because the Royals game had just ended and we were able to see the Friday night fireworks from the restaurant parking lot! I am really picky about my food and this place just hit me right in so many ways. Friendly owners, clean set-up, delicious food and super affordable prices! $31 for 3 people and we all had beers. I'm hooked!!!!!

Came here to eat lunch with my husband today. Mrs. Georgia was very welcoming when we entered the establishment. She brought us water bottles and our menus. I selected the Sausage sandwich and Mac n Chz and my husband chose the brisket sandwich with fries. Both meals were delicious and the BBQ sauce was a sweet tangy deliciousness. I would recommend this restaurant to others

Just do it! Traveling from Montana to Florida with my son and we wanted bbq in Kansas City. We found this wonderful place on Yelp and we weren't disappointed. Amazing. Just amazing.

The experience starts at the door. Mrs Georgia is a beautiful soul, she makes you feel welcome &loved. The BBQ was delicious, tender & flavorful. I'm visiting from Texas & wanted some good BBQ & I was not disappointed. The prices are great. Thank you Mrs Georgia for an incredible experience. By the way try the tea with love made with her own hands

Fantastic!!! I had the brisket sandwich with a side of green beans and it was great. The greens were also amazing. The owners are very charming! If I'm in the area again I will have to come back.
